Equestrians: let’s match Fat Tire Society’s Fundraising at Galisteo Basin Preserve

To all equestrians who love riding in the Galisteo Basin Preserve:
The last few years have seen tremendous improvements and expansion of the trails in the Preserve. Operations and stewardship activities are supported financially by grants from REI, annual fundraising campaigns, and generous donations from various trail user groups. Equestrians’ visible participation in actual trail building and maintenance has improved relations with cyclists and hikers immensely and made us welcomed users. To date, approximately $69,000, or 86%, has been raised toward the $80,000 goal for 2017.

The Santa Fe Fat Tire Society has voted to donate $2,000 toward Commonweal’s end of the year fundraising campaign and has challenged other trail clubs to match its very generous gift. Can you as individual users or members of an equine organization make a donation towards this match?

Starting this week, any gifts that Commonweal receives from you, your club or club members will count toward the challenge. If possible, they would like to meet the $2,000 challenge by midnight on Sunday, December 18th. An individual donor can make a notation on their check that he/she is part of a particular organization and that his/her donation should be credited toward the Fat Tire Society match. If an individual wants to make a donation online, he/she can make the same notation in the Dedication section of the online form. Go to www.galisteobasinpreserve.com and click on the “Donate Now” button.

Please continue to help make our equestrian presence felt in a most positive way.
