Santa Fe County Horse Coalition names new President, Piar Marks

Press Release, Effective Immediately:

The Santa Fe County Horse Coalition announced today that its Board of Directors has

unanimously chosen Piar Marks as the organization’s President.  Piar who has served as the

SFCHC Secretary since 2013, succeeds Cat Parks, one of the organization’s founders and

President for the past two years.

 

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization,” said Marks,

“The Santa Fe County Horse Coalition protects the vital and enduring presence of the horse, who

inspires and enriches our daily lives, our local and state economies, and the culture of Northern

New Mexico.”

The Santa Fe County Horse Coalition is an 800+ member organization that since its inception in

2013, has been recognized both state-wide and nationally for its work in equine advocacy by

organizations including the Back Country Horsemen of New Mexico, the New Mexico Horse

Council, and the American Horse Council.

Cat Parks expressed confidence in the board’s choice. “With Piar’s range of experience- her

career as a marketing and media professional in Southern California, over a decade of enjoying

her horses as a New Mexico resident, and her already demonstrated years of dedication to the

Santa Fe County horse community though her successful lobbying and educational efforts- Piar

has proven to be highly qualified to lead the SFCHC successfully in its ongoing development

and evolution,” said Cat Parks, “Her business acumen and vision, combined with her love of

horses and love for Santa Fe make her the ideal person to take the lead. We are delighted that

she has accepted the position.”
