Attention Horse Organizations in Santa Fe – COLTPAC Presentation 10/11/2016

Tuesday, October 11th at 6:30 at the Sheriff’s Posse Building at 3213 Rodeo Road in Santa Fe

Back Country Horsemen of Santa Fe has agreed to host a presentation for ALL horse organizations by COLTPAC (County Land, Trails and Parks Advisory Committee).

COLTPAC was formed around 2000 to provide recommendations to the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners on which parcels of land to acquire with funds from a large bond issue.  Eldon Reyer served on that early COLTPAC committee.

Acquisition money has been spent; 20 parcels have been acquired including Cerrillos Hills, Ortiz Mountain and Thornton Ranch – the three largest parcels. Now, COLTPAC has turned its attention to the development of all the properties which are located throughout the County.  Development entails maintaining existing parks, creating suitable trailheads and access, interpretive signage, as well as building sustainable trails.

This is an wonderful opportunity for you to hear details about the plans, make comments, and ask questions. Three parcels the Board of County Commissioners will be reviewing at their next meeting are La Cieneguilla, San Pedro and Los Potreros, so development activity is gaining momentum.

Presenting for COLTPAC is Dave Dannenberg, Chairman of COLTPAC, and Paul Olafson, County Planning Projects Manager will be on hand for questions.

Please mark your calendar to attend this informative presentation, post this on the websites of your organizations, and pass this along to others.

The Posse building is located off of Richards Ave, just before the Genoveva Chavez Center at 3213 Rodeo Road.
